A widower detective deals with death in both his professional and personal lives. At work he is counted upon to investigate the death of an old beggar women whose body has washed up on the beach. At home his overwhelming loneliness causes him to see manifestations of his dead wife. His difficulty in solving the case is further complicated by the visions of his wife which cause him to question what is fantasy and what is reality.

Detective Alavi (veteran actor Ezatollah Entezami) does not take the sight of the dead lightly, despite his line of work.

Alavi seeks comfort at a cafe owned by a friend.

Alavi is not afraid to speak bluntly to the local crime boss, "Everybody has a price, Mr Darbandi, and you can't afford to buy me."

Alone in his house, Alavi's mind hears and sees things that may not be real.

Alavi's wife inexplicably appears at the table.

Visiting his wife's grave to reassure himself that she has passed.

Alavi is assigned to investigate the death of a photography store owner, he quickly finds a connection to his other investigation.
